Lost and Found

When Garry Land got out of his car on N Deck, he noticed a man carrying a large box with an anatomic sticker on it.  When he approached him, the man said he couldn’t find 1200 E. Broad St. He told Garry the box had missed a flight out of New Jersey that was cancelled due to snow, and he was tasked with driving to Richmond to hand deliver the box by 9:00 am that morning. He seemed tired and nervous as he relayed that the box was going to the VCU Heart Transplant Office and told Garry the story of how he found 1200 E. Marshall Street but couldn’t find Broad Street and had returned to the parking deck to drive around and continue looking.

At that time, it was about 8:40, so to ensure the man wouldn’t get lost, Garry walked him directly to West Hospital and took him to the 5th floor where the Heart Transplant Offices are located. When they arrived at the office, they found the recipient of the box anxiously awaiting its arrival, which was delivered five minutes before 9:00!

Thanks, Garry!
